TomboyX, pioneer in inclusive clothing, launches growth initiative with funding from Decathlon Capital Partners

Revenue-based transaction will fund expansion of Seattle-based business through an innovative, company-friendly revenue financing agreement

TomboyX, the rapidly growing, Seattle-based pioneer in gender-fluid clothing made for all bodies, will launch an expansion initiative with the support of a significant investment from Decathlon Capital Partners. Details of the revenue-based investment weren’t disclosed.

Leslie Garrard, Chief Executive Officer of TomboyX, said the company plans to expand its product lines and enhance its distribution. “Ever since the company was founded 10 years ago by Fran Dunaway and Naomi Gonzalez, TomboyX has grown rapidly by building clothing that is comfortable, thoughtfully designed, and celebrates confidence and self-expression.” Garrard said. “In addition, TomboyX now is a certified B Corp, reflecting its commitment to ethical and sustainable practices.”

The revenue-based financing from Decathlon Capital Partners provides a highly flexible tool to finance the expansion of the fast-growing clothing company. The investment did not require any exchange of equity or ownership for the growth capital, and instead, Decathlon’s investment provides a nimble financing alternative without restrictive control provisions.

Wayne Cantwell, Managing Director of Decathlon Capital Partners, said the growth of TomboyX reflects its commitment to ethical conduct and its community impact as well as its understanding of the need for a gender-neutral brand that meets the needs of all body types. “Decathlon Capital Partners is excited to support the continued growth of TomboyX, an important challenger brand remaking the face of the apparel industry,” Cantwell said.
